I Graduated!!!

Today I finished my last Chemo Treatment!!! Praise the Lord!  They gave me a certificate "Pink Heart Award - Successfully Completed Chemotherapy" so cute.  I'm very excited!!  It's gonna be nice to return back to semi-normal in the coming weeks while preparing for surgery.  After surgery it's nothing but blue skies!  GOD is GOOD! Last Call!

Tomorrow is my last chemo treatment!!! Yeah!!! I can't believe it!  Can you believe I've been having these treatments since November???  It seems like this day would never come.  Even though I have one more week of side effects, I think I can get through it knowing it's the last one.

You would think I would want to look back and reflect, but quit frankly I don't think I can do that right now.  Now I'm looking a head to the next step - "surgery".

On Thursday, May 6, I will have another MRI to see how much the tumor has shrunk.  Hopefully, it will just be dead tissue.  The following day I will meet with my surgeon to go over my results and schedule my surgery.

These past couple of weekends I've been staying with my mom.  Even though it's been kinda hard, it's been nice spending time with her.  I miss her very much.

Have a wonderful week!  Hugs and Blessings to All!

Only one Treatment Left!

Today I had my 11th Treatment, only 1 more to go! I did talk to my Dr. and he said I making good progress. However, the side effects are getting progressively worse, which is normal. Right now my Saturday - Tues are my worst days. For the conversion of sinners and the souls in purgatory.

Which brings me to the topic the first book I was able to read since starting Chemo, "No Turning Back, A Witness to Mercy" by Father Donald Calloway. This book is fantastic and highly recommend to anyone who has an unruly child. He TOTALLY believes in praying for the conversion of sinners because he converted to be Catholic and became a Catholic priest. He never knew one thing about the Catholic Church. He first learned about the Catholic Church through Mary, Our Blessed Mother. He said she totally brought him to Jesus and the Catholic Church. His journey is unbelievable and really would make a great movie. It's similar to Fr. Corapi. Anyway, I believe his prayers helped my conversion back in 1994. You can purchase his book on Amazon.

On a different note the NFL draft is on right now. I can’t believe we are starting the draft, I’m still basking in glow of the Superbowl.

Hope you have a great week! I will try to post if I feel good! Until then thanks for all your words of encouragement, prayers and cards!

This is the day!

This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad!  That is what popped in my head the first thing this morning.  It made me smile.

Today went into work for a few hours, it was nice to see everyone and get caught up to speed on what was happening with our company.  It was nice to see the new projects coming up, I look forward to be part of it as soon as I return back to work.  Tonight a special lady at work had arranged dinner for Jack and I.  It was very nice and we enjoyed it very much.  Yummy!

This weekend I will be spending it with Mom, looking forward to seeing her.  She is doing good, sleeping alot, but doing good.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Brett Farve?

Okay so Jack thinks my hair looks like Brett Farve 8-|   He would rather see me in a cap than my wig.   But he says I'm beautiful either way..."good answer" :P   Right now it has the salt and pepper look.  I'm just glad it's growing back. :D  However, I'm not ready to go into the public without a hat or my wig.  But that day is coming soon! Yippy! :D

So this week I'll be calling my surgeon to schedule my surgery which will be sometime in May.  After my last chemo treatment, I will be having another MRI.  I will keep you posted on the exact dates.

On another note, I don't know if any of you saw the Masters golf tournament.  It was so nice to see Phil Michelson win.  Jack and I totally can relate to what he is going through.  His wife and mother currently have breast cancer and are undergoing treatment.  Jack and I were just talking about how important it is to concentrate on positive things and not dwell to much on this illness.  Which is hard to do.  Phil said the to win the Masters is so special on so many levels.   Jack hasn't won the Masters, but to have something so positive to celebrate is awesome.

Hope you have blessed day!

Thanks to all of your for your prayers, my white blood count was up to 8.0!!! Praise God!  I was super excited today about this news!!  Almost as excited when the Saints won the superbowl (well maybe not that excited) Woot! Woot!

On another note, my hair is growing back!!!  The hair on my head is growing back however, it's looking a little more gray than I like.  But from what I understand the dark hair will come in a little later.  Needless to say I will be watching this like a hawk. :)

Okay that's about it!  Have an awesome day!  I know my day was great today - thanks to you!!!!

Treatment #9 of 12

Well it's that time of the week again - treatment number 9 of 12.   I felt good Thursday and Friday, but Saturday through Tuesday not so much.  Today, I actually feel like a semi-human again.

Please pray that my white blood count is above 2.0 so I can have my treatment tomorrow.  I'll let you know how it went on Thursday when I get home from chemo.

Oh I completely forgot, wanted to let my HPSJ friends know that I got my daffodils at my last treatment.  For those who don't know the American Cancer Society has an annual fundraiser called Daffodil Days to collect money to buy bouquets of daffodils for patients undergoing chemo.  This gesture is really nice and uplifting for the patients.  I saw first hand the smiles on patients recieving their flowers.  So a great big shout out of thanks to Nancy R and Rosi being involved in this endeavor.  Here is a link with the information if your interested in contributing Daffodil Days

Easter Blessings

I hope you all had a nice Easter.  Tina's family, my mom and Roseline came over yesterday for Easter lunch.  Jack BBQ'd steaks, it was really nice.  Afterwards, while everyone else played cards, mom and I took naps.

Today I'm still tired, so I will be taking it easy today....

Have a nice day everyone!

Good Friday!

Well yesterday's treatment was 8 of 12 only 4 more to go!  YEAH!  However, the doctor was concerned that my white blood cell (WBC) count droped from my range of 7.1-6.3 to 2.5.  If next week my white blood count is below 2.0 I may have to skip my treatment.  So please pray that it doesn't go below 2.0!

So now I have to especially careful I don't get any kind of infection this week.  I told them this Friday I HAVE to go see the Passion Play at my Church.  They said I can go as long as I'm careful. :)  Don't sit by anyone sick, blah blah blah...

I hope everyone has a beautiful Good Friday!  Especially at 3:00 PM today remember that Jesus died for us! I am so humbled!

Holy Thursday

"But if I washed your feet...then you must wash each other’s feet." (John 13:14)
Today we remember how the Lord washed the feet of the Apostles and tonight we remember the Lords Supper!  A gift that God has given all of us, if we can accept it.

I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world."  The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, "How can this man give us (his) flesh to eat?"  Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day.Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven.
Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever." These things he said while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum. Then many of his disciples who were listening said, "This saying is hard; who can accept it?" Since Jesus knew that his disciples were murmuring about this, he said to them, "Does this shock you? What if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before? It is the spirit that gives life, while the flesh is of no avail. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life. But there are some of you who do not believe." Jesus knew from the beginning the ones who would not believe and the one who would betray him. And he said, "For this reason I have told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by my Father." As a result of this, many (of) his disciples returned to their former way of life and no longer accompanied him.  (John 54:66)

Get Ready for Treatment 8 of 12 today!  Thanks to all for your prayers and support!  Love and Hugs to you all!
