What is Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC)? It is commonly known as stage 4 breast cancer where the cancer has traveled outside the breast. Usually it goes by way of you lymph nodes first. Breast Cancer usually travels to your bones, lungs and brain. There is no cure for MBC.
Some women or men are MBC diagnosed stage 4 in the beginning or it may reoccur any time after you have breast cancer regardless of what stage. When women are diagnosed with breast cancer there is 30% chance it will recur regardless if they found it at stage 0-3.
Most cancer fund raising goes to " awareness". We need more money for a cure/research. I'm doing my part by participating in my third clinical trial. I know it's doubtful that I may never live long enough to see a cure, but at least I know I'm helping the next generation in some small way by participating in clinical trials. What are you doing?
What can you do? First and foremost please pray every day and second think before you pink. The next time you buy a pink item please makes sure that at least 50% of the profits are going to breast cancer research, not awareness. Also, there are many companies out there use the guise of awareness to sell and profit off pink products. You always not buy a pink product and give straight to research organizations or organizations who give grant money to several different breast cancer research organizations.
