A day of Preparation...

Wednesday the day before treatment, a day of preparation -J ack and I always go to the store make sure we have enough food and medicine.  Clean the house, wash the clothes, etc.

Today we will also be preparing for Easter as everyone will be coming to my house for Easter this year.  I've held Easter at my house for the past 3 years.  I love Easter, such a beautiful time to celebrate.  We have much to celebrate.  We are keeping it simple, BBQ steaks, asparagus, baked potato, salad and lots of desserts!  Jack will be much of the cooking, which he loves.

Even though my bones and musceles ache, I'm trying not to let it get me down.  I just take a lot of breaks. *wink*.

Holy Week Reflection:  Today we remember that Judas paid 30 pieces of silver to betray Jesus.  Let us ask for deeper repentance today.

Holy Week

On Friday, I laid out all my plans and didn't accomplish any of them. I didn't feel that great on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Oh well, that's all part of it, right? I gave it to the souls of purgatory and the conversion of sinners.

It's Holy Week this week, my favorite time of the year to meditate more fully on the Stations of the Cross.  To enter more deeply into the magnitude of what Christ did for all of us (and for me).

Every year for the past 7 years (I think) I've directed the Passion Play of Our Lord Jesus Christ with the youth at my Church, St. Patricks.  It is one of my greatest joys.   Some of these kids have been in the Passion Play for several years.  All these kids are really dedicated and awesome to be around.  My nephews Robert and Justin, and my neice Sarah have participated in this play over the years.   Because of my illness this year, my nephew Justin has volunteered to direct the Passion Play this year.  To say that I'm so proud is an understatement! I'm so excited to see the Passion Play this Friday.

If you'd like to come out to experience the greatest story ever told The Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ, please do!  It's this Friday at 6:00 PM at St Patricks Church (19399 East State Highway 120, Ripon CA)

May Christ reign in your hearts this week in a special way!

If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me; but if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father."  John 10:37-38

Okay here is the short update:

1.  Tomorrow I will have treatment #7 of 12.  :D
2.  Looks like my hair is trying to grow back.  :)
3.  I cracked another tooth, I have a dentist appointment this Friday.   I really dislike going to the dentist, I hope this new dentist is gentle. :)

That's all there is to report today!

"Blessed are you, O Lord, the God of our fathers, praiseworthy and exalted above all forever; And blessed is your holy and glorious name, praiseworthy and exalted above all for all ages.  Daniel 3:52

A Quiet Sunday

Today just hung out with mom and rested.  Tina and Robert made breakfast for us which was really nice.  Father Peter came by to visit this evening.  We had a very nice conversation with him.  We also prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet which was beautiful.  May God continue to bless Father Peter, we are so blessed to have him in our Parish.

Just Visiting

I'm staying this weekend with my mom.  Today, we went to visit my sister Rose.  We also stopped by to visit my Grandma and Aunt Doris.  Mom enjoyed today, however, right now she is fast alseep in her chair.

Today I feel good too.  On the day of my treatment I cracked my tooth and now it feels a little sore.  I need to figure out how to get that fix now.  Ugh!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Chemo Doc Appt Today

So while I was getting my chemo treatment today, I had an appointment with my doctor.  He is pleased with the progress.  The tumor is shrinking but still there.  He said there is about a 50% chance when I get my next scan that the tumor could be just dead tissue.  (The next scan will be a week after my last treatment which will be at the end of April)

He also said that even if the tumor maybe just dead tissue I will still get a mastectomy with an axillary lymph node disection, because of the size of my tumor and that there were clusters around the tumor and location.  I'm okay with all that, because this will give some peace time later down the road.

So all is good.  My side affects continue to annoy me, but I'm praying my way through it.  So glad today was with the 6th treatment!  Half way there!

Thanks to all you! Hugs and Blessings to All

Normal?

I just realized I haven't updated my blog for a while.

Last week I had a great week, I almost felt normal.  I worked 2 half days at work, I had lunch with a friend, went grocery shopping, enjoyed a visit with my mom did a little gardening and hosted a Sunday night dinner.  Actually on Sunday, Sarah (my neice) and Michael (her boyfriend) came over and made tacos at my house.  My sister Tina and Sister-inlaw Connie filled in with the side dishes, I just sat and watched (which was nice).   So I really didn't do much.

Last Saturday it all hit me, I tried to do to much to soon I guess.  But I felt good and I did it, I don't regret it.   Oh well.  Late today I'm starting to come out of it, but tomorrow I start again with my next treatment. Tomorrow it's Treatment No 6 of 12! Half way there!

Thank you for all your support and prayers!  If you'd like to come by for a visit, I'm open for visitors.

Friday

Today is Friday...no meat today.   Because my taste buds are all over the place I have no idea what to eat everyday.

It's the day after my treatment #4 and so far it's okay.  Just annoying side effects.   I was thinking about the positives and here they are (not in any particular order):
1) I haven't had to shave my legs or under my arms in 3 months.
2) Saving money not buying any hair products, plus saving time doing my hair
3) No monthly periods for 3 months
4) I just put gas in my car for the first time yesterday since November. (Saving on Gas money too!)
5) Enjoying spending time with Jack.

Hope you have a great day today!

A New Day

Today is a new day!  My reflection today:

For I will restore you to health; of your wounds I will heal you, says the LORD - Jeremiah 30:17
Getting ready for treatment #4 of 12.  To say I want it to be over already, is an under statement! But when I focus on our Lord and pray he shields me from my fears and anxiety.  Today I will be taking this picture with me:

It is the image of the Jesus, most commonly know as the "Divine Mercy" image.    The red and white rays coming from this image stands for the blood and water poured out for us on the cross for our sins. The message given to this image is "Jesus I Trust in You".  The whole message for the focus of Divine Mercy is to Trust In Jesus and his mercy.  Here is some more history regarding this image:

Hope you have an awesome day!

Staying Positive

Hey all still at moms, going home on Tuesday.  Staying positive dispite these anoying side effects to personal to discuss here.

Mom has been good she likes to watch the game show network channel 24/7, ...I think I've seen every "deal or no deal" episode which is her favorite. :)

Had some nice visits from our cousins this weekend, which was really nice.

Hope you have a fantastic day.   Here is the lenton scripture for today:

"Be compassionate, as your Father is compassionate." (Luke 6:36)
