Have a Great Weekend!

I'll be spending this weekend with my mom, looking forward to spending time with her.  I'm doing good after this last treatment just some minor side effects that are more annoying but not serious.

Thanks to everyone for their prayers and encouragement.  I really appreciate it so much!

Good Day!

Had a very nice day today!  Lunch with Nancy M, always fun!  Then Delia came over after work for a nice visit.  Enjoyed spending time with friends, I am truely blessed!  I don't have these good days very often so I took advantage. :)

Another thing I got done today was filing my taxes!  Yeah.  It's done!

Getting ready for treatment #3 of 12 tomorrow.

Hope you're having a great day!

Olympics

Are you watching the Olympics?  I'm obsesssed!  Because I don't sleep very well, I've been staying up late to watch the Olympics.  Men's Figure skating was so exciting! Evan Lyaseck so awesome taking the Gold for the USA.  Also, Shawn White (USA) taking gold on the snowboard half-pipe.  I don't know much about this sport, but you could tell his performance was far superior to the rest.

When I went to my treatment today I told the lady who sticks my finger to check my blood that she'd been doing gold performance up until today it was a bronze.  She said she would work on it for next week.  We had a good laugh.

My Treatment today didn't even make the medal plateform, I didn't feel well today.  Oh well...

Hugs and Blessings to all!

Treatment No. 2

Today is treatment no. 2 and guess what?  I forgot to take my pre-Med last night.  Ugh!  Now I have to call this morning to see if I can still come in for my treatment or schedule for tomorrow.   I need to set an alarm to remind me about that medicine!

Anyway got to visit with some work friends yesterday.  So nice to see everyone, I really miss them.  They all told me it's too quiet there without me.  Imagine that? :)

I created a new email address so if you want to send a note and you are having trouble posting a comment you can send an email.  I do have another personal email address, I'm still using that too I just don't want to publish it.  :)  The email address is, ready (got the pen?):  JeanneSaintsFan@aol.com (cute huh).    Okay I wonder who will send me my first email.

Fatigued

Okay the past couple of days I've been very fatigued.  It's really been unpredictable.  Oh well...

Getting ready to start lent.  Been thinking...what can I give up for lent?  Really, I have to give something else up?  :)  Think maybe I"ll try not to complain. :)

It's Mardi Gras today in New Orleans, they are really living it up over there.

Miss you all!  Hugs and Blessings!

Not Bad

Okay it's the day after my taxol chemo treatment and it's not that bad.  The only side effects are extreme hot flashes.  My checks on my face are also very hot to the touch.  This is WAY better than it was before.  I have a little fatigue, but it's probably because I was so anxious about this treatment.

Looking forward to watching the Olympics tonight.

Still watching all the videos on the Saints (can't get enough).  I think I've watch the rerun of that game 10 times.

Hugs and Blessings to all encouraging me and praying for me.

Week 1 of 12

Well tomorrow (thur) I am starting my taxol chemo treatments (1 per week for 12 weeks).   I'm praying the side effects aren't as bad as the previous treatments.  I really don't want to go and quite frankly I'm being a baby about it.  Today as were driving toward the clinic to have my blood drawn, I started to feel nausea.  Yuck.  Lord have mercy.

I'm still in 7th heaven about the Saints winning the superbowl.  I've been reading all the articles at NOLA.com, viewing all the videos, too fun.  The Saints winning the Superbowl and Mardi Gras in full swing - New Orleans is rockin for sure.

World Champions!!! New Orleans Saints!!!

Oh my goodness, I am beyond excited about the fact that the New Orleans Saints beat the Colts to win the Superbowl.    Okay, I have to review what I felt were the highlights of the game were...

Unsong Hero - Garrett Hartley who kicked 3 field goals each over 40 plus yards to keep the Saints alive in the first half of the game.

The Onside Kick in the 3rd Quarter that surpised us all when the Saints came up with the ball.  Oh my gosh that was a fantastic play!

Drew Brees completed 38 out of 42 passes.  Unbelieveable!  2 Touch down passes.

The nail in the coffin - Interception for a touchdown by Tracy Porter.

It was a nail biter and a great game.  I was just so happy that the Saints made it to the Superbowl, for them to win is beyond anything.  New Orleans and the whole gulf coast is gonna remember this game forever.  I know I sure will.

Hugs to All!  Who Dat! NO BODY!

Groundhog Day

Yesterday, I visited my surgeon who said he spoke with my oncologist who are advising that I need 12 more weeks of Chemo before my surgery.  The tumor has shrunk but it's less than average than they'd like.     The next treatment I will receive is a drug named Taxol, which has less side effects.  I will received 12 treatments once a week.  The treatments last around 1-2 hours.  I will probably find out what side effects I will endure during the 1-2 weeks of treatment.  A lot of people who have received this type of treatment say the side effects are not that bad.  Let's pray thats true for me.

Finally, draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power.  Ephesians 6:10

On another note, my sister Tina's father inlaw passed away early this week.  I pray that his soul enters the kingdom of heaven on angels wings.

Also, the Confirmation Retreat is this weekend and pray the Holy Spirit reigns in each heart in a very special way.  So many people work so hard to put on this retreat for the kids, it's really a sacrifice of love.

So the past couple of days my mom has been staying with me, Jack has been taking care of both of us.  He's so patient and caring.  (poor guy).

Hugs and blessings to All!

Hanging Out...

Just been hanging out with my mom this week at my house.  I still have some of the side effects of my last chemo, but every day its better.   But I'm hanging in there.

My Catholic faith, family and friends have been extremely comforting during this trying time.  As a Catholic, we believe in the Communion of Saints so not only are you praying for me, but the Saints and my family in heaven on praying for me too.  So comforting you have no idea.

Looking forward to the superbowl this weekend!  Jack and I will be glued to the TV that's for sure!  Geaux Saints!

Hugs and blessings to All!
